Terms of Service

Welcome to WanderDive. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About WanderDive

WanderDive is an online dive logbook that lets you record your dives, import them from dive computer files and see them on a world map. It is operated by Stefan Saxen ("we", "us") from Finland.

2. Not a Dive Planning or Safety Tool

WanderDive is a logbook for recording dives after they happen. It is not a dive planner, decompression calculator or safety device, and must not be used to plan dives or make decisions about your safety underwater. Data imported from dive computers or entered by hand may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always dive within your training and follow your dive computer, your agency's procedures and your dive professionals.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and the information you give us must be accurate.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• keeping your password secure and confidential;
• all activity under your account;
• telling us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• try to access our systems or other users' data without permission;
• use the service for anything unlawful;
• upload content that is illegal, harmful or infringes other people's rights — including photos or personal details of others that you don't have the right to share;
• overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or copy the service without our written permission.

6. Your Content

You own the dives, notes and photos you add. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run WanderDive for you — for example syncing them between your devices, and showing the share page when you create a share link. You can export your log as UDDF or CSV at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

7. Intellectual Property

The WanderDive software, design and name belong to Stefan Saxen. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service. Map data is provided by Esri and its partners and place search by OpenStreetMap contributors, under their own terms.

8. Price

WanderDive is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, prices and terms will be shown clearly before you are charged anything, and we will give reasonable notice before changing what free accounts include.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep WanderDive available but can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may pause it for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Keep your own backups of important data using the export feature.

10. Disclaimer

WanderDive is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise it will be error-free or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use WanderDive. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

12. Termination

You can stop using WanderDive at any time and delete your account yourself in the app (Account → Delete account), which permanently removes your dives, photos and share link. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use WanderDive after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and may bring claims there.
